Managing Director, The Mercadien Group

Principal, Mercadien, P.C., Certified Public Accountants

Jack Fein is a Certified Public Accountant and has been a member of the accounting and management consulting firm of Mercadien, P.C., Certified Public Accountants for over 40 years. As a principal of Mercadien he works with more than 85 nonprofit organizations. Through his involvement with the state charity registration section, he was involved in proposing and drafting revisions to the Charity Registration Act that governs all nonprofit organizations in the state.

In addition to his CPA accreditation, Jack was one of the first Certified Government Financial Managers (“CGFM”) in the nation and is also a licensed Public School Accountant (“PSA”) in New Jersey. Jack is a graduate of Temple University, and his articles on management and accounting have appeared in numerous national publications and professional journals. He is also publisher and editor-in-chief of the Nonprofit Examiner, a nationally syndicated publication, distributed to more than 15,000 professionals throughout North America. He has been a frequent lecturer on current accounting issues and has taught courses for The College of New Jersey and Mercer County Community College to other CPAs and professionals. Mr. Fein was also one of the lead curriculum designers in the development of the highly acclaimed Nonprofit Management Program that was co-sponsored with The College of New Jersey.

Mr. Fein currently serves as Treasurer of the Committee on Religious Ministries at University Medical Center of Princeton, Inc., Treasurer to the board of SERV Behavioral Health Systems, Inc., member of the advisory board of RomAsia Bank, and assistant treasurer of the Rotary Club of Princeton Foundation. He also serves on the advisory board of Rutgers MACCY Program in Governmental Accounting. He is a member of the American and Pennsylvania Institutes of Certified Public Accountants and is licensed to practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Jack is a resident of Bucks County, Pennsylvania, where he is a founding member of Shir Ami Bucks County Jewish Congregation. He was on the board and executive committee and was treasurer of the congregation for over ten years.

COLLEEN MILLER

Colleen Miller is online marketing specialist with decades of experience in communications, including print and online publishing. She is currently managing her own digital consulting business, with clients such as Philanthropy NY, a regional association of grant makers in NYC. Previously, she served as director of content strategy for Data Center Knowledge, a news site covering the tech industry and was Senior Officer, Web, for The Pew Charitable Trusts, a large international non-profit.
