Since professional development is directly linked to personal growth, it is imperative that leaders develop a higher level of self-awareness in order to engage and empower their team.

Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this 75-minute workshop participants will:

  • Assess their personal and professional traits and habits
  • Understand the relationship between self-awareness and leadership
  • Define at least one strategy they can immediately use to help themselves improve how they engage and empower their team

Michael Edmondson

Michael Edmondson holds a Ph.D. in History from Temple University, is a 200 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher and currently serves as the Director, The Center for Continuing Studies at Mercer County Community College. Business Experts Press published three professional development books for Michael. His book Marketing Your Value: 9 Steps to Navigating Your Career explains how professionals across all levels and backgrounds can assess their personal and professional skills, create a compelling personal brand, and develop the communication materials necessary to navigate today’s chaotic, dynamic, and ever changing global marketplace. Michael’s second book, Major in Happiness: Debunking the College Major Fallacies examines a variety of assumptions prevalent in the mental models of undergraduates, parents, educators, higher education leaders, administrators, and policymakers that cause people to fall into a series of mental traps when selecting a major. Michael’s third book, Success: Theory and Practice highlights some of the emerging theories related to how people achieve various levels of success. Michael routinely speaks at events and conducts workshops on a variety of business, education and career related issues. In 2007, the Empowerment Group awarded Michael its Entrepreneurial Inspiration Award for his work supporting minority entrepreneurship ventures in Philadelphia. Website: www.navigatethechaos.com
