2016- Creating Donors Through the Event Experience: On-line and On-site

Turn your event attendees into advocates and fundraisers by following several simple steps. What your audience sees, hears and feels before, at and after your events matters. If you play your cards right, your attendees and volunteers will become some of your strongest advocates.

• Create an environment of inclusion to become more engaged with event participants.
• Change the storytelling process for more personal connection.
• Establish “peer-to-peer” initiatives so participants can help magnify the reach of your events.
• Plan before, during, and post-event communications so your events deepen the connections you are building with your community.

Peter Winters, Digital Media Fundraising Specialist, MSP Cultivate

Peter Winters is a 20+ year veteran of marketing communications with a concentration in the area of emerging media opportunities. About six years ago Peter realized the nonprofit community had yet to evolve their online development practices in terms of social media, event registration and, more recently, mobile media fundraising. Since then, Peter has been evangelizing within the community about the unprecedented opportunities that exist within social, online, and mobile fundraising communications.
Peter is a frequent public speaker and social media publisher on the subject, often encouraging development officers and fundraisers to “think differently” and apply evolved strategies and tactics to their fundraising initiatives. His organization provides both strategic consulting and cross-media fundraising implementation services.
His passion for the subject, knowledge of the unrealized opportunity, and delivery style naturally resonate with audiences that seek to compete for donor dollars and attention span.
