Peter Winters, Digital Media Fundraising Specialist, MSP Cultivate
Peter Winters is the founder of the digital media fundraising consulting firm Change The Author. He maintains that fundraising, particularly digital media and online fundraising, needs different approach strategies and tactics if it’s to thrive in a 2017 cross-media world.
Peter specializes in strategic coaching and implementation services that mirror the changed patterns of giving today. His marketing background in the private sector informs his work with nonprofits and foundations looking for new followers, advocates, or donor sources.
Peter has been a frequent speaker on this subject, having delivered sessions on behalf of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Association of Healthcare Philanthropy, Xerox, HP, and Kodak. Most recently he has served on the executive committee for the Nonprofit Section of the Public Relations Society of America. This year he will also serve on the executive committee of PRSA’s Entertainment/Sports Marketing section—the intersection of “big names” and fundraising events.
Three of his favorite passions are cycling, public speaking, and that “moment” when development officers “see” the new approach strategy for themselves. Some of his recent regional clients are The Seed School of Baltimore, Vassar Brothers Medical Center Foundation, Where Angels Play Foundation, and Children’s Specialized Hospital Foundation.
