• Where major gifts fit into the fundraising cycle, especially vis-à-vis annual funds
• What works in successful major gift solicitation
• Why nonprofits must have a robust major gift program

Tom Sims, Chief Development Officer, Food Bank of South Jersey
Tom Sims
is chief development officer for the Food Bank of South Jersey. He works to ensure that donations to the Food Bank are maintained at optimal levels and that the organization is an exceptional steward of all gifts received. The goal of Tom’s team is to raise awareness of the Food Bank in the wider community and to fulfill its mission of helping children, seniors, and families in need.

With a background of service to several nonprofit organizations based in South Jersey, Tom has devoted his career to fundraising and managing stewardship for those dedicated to helping underserved populations.

He received a B.A. in English from Temple University and a Master Certificate in Organizational Leadership from Villanova University.
