Whether you are new to volunteer management or in need of a basic refresher, this is for you! Learn basic tools for supporting and integrating volunteers into your work program. We will review strategies to effectively engage volunteers, benefits of matching the right volunteer to the right volunteer position, and how to ensure volunteers are rewarded and recognized.

Sally Kutyla, Volunteer Services Manager, Longwood Gardens
Sally Kutyla has been a leader in volunteer program management for the past fifteen years. As the volunteer services manager for Longwood Gardens, in Kennett Square, PA, she manages a program engaging more than 750 volunteers on a year-round basis. Before coming to Longwood, she developed the volunteer program at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts in Philadelphia and was manager of volunteer services there for ten years.  She has additional nonprofit experience as the members activities manager for the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society. She also has been a retail manager for a garden center in Concordville, PA.
Sally is an active member in several affinity organizations of volunteer managers, including the Cultural Volunteer Managers of Philadelphia. She holds a certificate in Basic Mediation Training from the University of Delaware’s Conflict Resolution Program.
